Arizona is turning 100 this year and the state’s Native American community is joining in the celebration.
Twenty-two Native American tribes from throughout the state are building cultural villages for the Arizona Centennial Best fest Celebration.
The authentic reproductions are meant to promote Arizona’s diverse and vibrant American Indian heritage.
“People can come here they can go through the village structures. We’ll have a lot of demonstrators here that will talk about traditional crafts. There are a lot of photo opportunities. We have a horse coral setup and just all kinds of different villages to go through,” shared Dawn Melvin with Tribal Tourism.
You can see the villages and take part in other activities at Carnegie Center in downtown Phoenix this weekend.
