PHOENIX – As Arizona travels toward its 100th birthday, among the celebrations is the unveiling of the Arizona Centennial Commemorative Specialty license plate.
The vehicle license plate will be available starting Monday, October 31 by visiting the Centennial website , an Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division office or online , and authorized third-party offices around the state.
The plate incorporates Arizona’s state flag colors.
“It’s an attention-grabber; we’re thrilled with the result, and we invite all to purchase and enjoy it as we celebrate Arizona’s 100 Years of Statehood,” said Karen Churchard, executive director, Arizona Centennial Commission and 2012 Foundation.
The specialty plate is only $25 with $17 of that benefiting the Arizona Centennial 2012 Foundation, a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to education and recognition of Arizona’s 100 Years, according to a commission news release.
Proceeds will support the free signature events and projects produced to educate Arizonans about the history, beauty and growth of the state over the past 10 decades, officials say.
