The historical motorcycle tour began at Mesa Riverview and ended at the Arizona State Capitol.

The ride was led by Phoenix native and “Ride” Honorary Chairman Dierks Bentley along with the official mascot of the Arizona Centennial, the Copper Chopper.

The Copper Chopper was driven by its renowned designer and Arizona resident Paul Yaffee.

The Arizona Centennial ride marked the end of the Copper Chopper’s 18-month tour to every corner of the state to raise awareness of the Arizona Centennial.

The Arizona Copper Chopper will be given away in a final drawing Sun., Feb. 12, 4:30pm.

The Arizona Centennial Commemoration is a statewide, multi-year observation, with events and projects taking place from 2010 through 2012 in communities across the state. The Arizona Centennial and its Arizona Centennial 2012 Foundation – in collaboration with the Arizona Historical Advisory Commission – heads up commemoration planning and implementation.

The Centennial is Arizona’s 100th birthday, which takes place on Feb. 14, 2012.
