PHOENIX  — The Copper State is about to turn 100 years old.

This weekend kicked off a birthday bash called “Best Fest.” It’s a party that local Brett Michaels would give two thumbs up to.

With Washington Street shut down, families were able to move freely around the Capitol, learning about 100 years of history about Arizona. Topics included everything from Native American living to the Buffalo Soldiers to evolving military vehicles.

Food and drinks fueled people’s desire to learn and live entertainment kept the fun going.

The state will blow its candles out on Tuesday, Feb. 14, which also happens to be Valentines Day.
