The 2011 Daisy Mountain Veterans Parade is officially part of the state’s centennial celebration. The designation allows parade organizers to use the official centennial logo in promotions, and, in turn, the state’s centennial organizers will get the word out about Anthem’s event.
“This is a great honor,” said parade chair Mary Ann Derryberry. “Hopefully all the additional publicity will help people appreciate what a fantastic parade we have here in Anthem, and bring out more [people] to see for themselves.” The theme this year: “Arizona History.”
The centennial commission hopes all 22 tribes, 15 counties and 120 cities will be involved in at least one official event.
