Valley students unveil new mosaic bench

PEORIA, AZ – There’s a new feature in the Urban Forest across the street from Santa Fe Elementary.
Students at the school hand-made custom tesserae tiles out of clay, they also glazed and fired the tiles and grouted them onto the one-of-a-kind mosaic bench.
The bench was donated to the students by City of Peoria council member Vicki Hunt.
The kids made tiles, that to them, symbolize statehood, Arizona’s centennial and life as a student at Santa Fe Elementary.
