Countdown to Centennial

99 Years & Counting…

A Celebration at the Capitol…

February 14, 2011 marked Arizona’s 99th Statehood Day and was the official kick-off to Arizona’s Centennial. Countdown to Centennial was a free event and will be held on the Arizona State Capitol Senate Lawn from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Monday, February 14th!

The countdown was an EXPO of 60+ booths showcasing Signature Events and Projects, Legacy Projects and Official Centennial Events happening across the state for the next year. Plus, it was an opportunity to be the first to check out the Official Centennial merchandise!

The Official Centennial Mascot – the Arizona Copper Chopper also made an appearance! If you haven’t had the opportunity to see it up close and personal, this was your chance!

Dave Pratt was on the Countdown Stage, where 20 entertainers, ranging from re-en actors to musical performances, all with a special tie to Arizona, performed, including our Official State Historian Marshall Trimble.
